Baby P's bedding and wall colors

Many friends and family have been asking what our colors or theme of the nursery are going to be. Well, we finally know! A family friend (the same lady that makes the hooter hiders) has graciously taken on the job of making our bedding. This is the best picture I could find, although we are using only 3 of the 8 fabrics in this picture. The 3rd one down is called Alexander Henry Briquetage Torquoise which will be the inside of his bumper pad. The 5th one down is called Michael Miller Zoology Brown and will be the outside of his bumper pad and we are also going to have two pockets on the inside of his bumper pad and this print will be on the inside of the pockets. The 7th one down is Alexander Henry Anjou Stripes and will be his bed skirt. Russ and picked the wall colors: a light blue above the chair rail and taupe below. We also got our furniture a few days ago which is an espresso color. The furniture is still in the boxes in the garage until we get the room painted. We are excited to be making progress!

Baby "P"eanut is spoiled!

On Saturday we had our first baby shower with our family. We had a great turn out of people, a delicious spread of brunch food, and lots of generous gifts we given. We are so blessed already! We appreciated everything we got but some of the highlights were a bathtub, monitors, swing, a beautiful hand-made blanket, lots of great clothes, bath time gear, lots of lotions and powders, diapers, etc. I've included a picture of how Russ thinks a boppy should be used :) People we joking around how I will come home from work and find him with it around his neck as a pillow while playing some PS3. Quite possible :)

My in-laws Mark and Sue were such generous hosts. As a small token of our appreciation, we gave Grandma and Grandpa Pearson a plant. I think they are already enjoying the ring of that..... Grandma and Grandpa!

There were 4 pregnant family members at our shower! Aunt Lynda is due with a baby girl at the end of August, me, my sister two days after us with Baby Sam, and cousin Trisha at the end of December. She doesn't know the gender quite yet. I am voting for a Christmas baby! Aunt Lynda had her shower Friday night at Smokehouse BBQ and also got lots of great gifts. We were so excited and pleased that our family in Iowa and Wisconsin made the trip down to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby Girl Abbott and Baby Boy Pearson. Thank you to all of our family, near and far that made it!

We are continuing to work on the chair rail in the baby's room. Today we filled all the cracks, sanded and painted the first coat. We are pleased with the work so far. Wall colors are yet to be determined. Here is Daddy Russ lounging on the floor, tired from all of his hard work. Here is a belly pic at the end of 26, beginning of 27 weeks. Catching Up

I am a little behind! June 17th we celebrated Mr. Russell's 28th birthday with a family outing to the Royal's Buck Night. First we stopped over at his mom's house where Russ got his group gift.... a PS3 and his parents got him Grand Theft Auto 4. You would have thought he was in heaven! Perhaps I am crazy for getting him this right before the baby is born but he has promised to not let this get in the way of our baby preparations. And it really hasn't so far. He is a good guy!

That weekend we celebrated Father's Day over at Matt and Rebecca's house with a delicious BBQ. Russ got a baby carrier that can either go in front or back and a CD I made him of modern baby music and modern/ top rated artists. When he was asked later what he got he just kinda looked at me blankly and mumbled, "PS3?" Guess he really was enjoying that new gaming system! Matt and Russ got some funny "Dad" shirts from my parents and he also got a cute little outfit from Gyboree from the Tilley's. We got my dad an engraved grandpa photo frame and a joke present that will need some explaining. My dad is convinced we won't be able to go on our annual ski trip this year with the babies. We joked around and said he needed a feeding system like the Grandpa on Meet the Fockers had. So, we made him one! If you know my dad this fits his humor to a T! Everyone was dying laughing!

We had our 24 week appt last week. Everything looks good except for that darn placenta keeps staying low. We are just hoping and praying this doesn't buy me an automatic ticket to a C-Section! Here are a couple of belly shots from 24 weeks. No making fun of my bare stomach!

After many, many trips up and down the stairs to the basement and thanks to the help of our awesome neighbors, Baby P's future room has been cleaned out! What a project! Russ and I started installing the chair rail tonight with only a few minor bumps in the road. Nothing that can't be fixed! We also got this awesome glider and foot rest for free from Max's parents. Yep you heard me right people, FREE! We still can't believe it and are so thankful for their generosity. We are so blessed to have giving and thoughtful people in our lives!

St. Louis Trip and lots of new posts

This last weekend Russ and I did a whirlwind of a trip down to St. Louis so he could visit an old friend from Cali. He had not seen Ben since high school! Ben is now married and has a cute little son. We hung out at the zoo for afternoon. This is Baby P's 3rd zoo trip since in the womb! Russ is just priceless at the zoo. The penguin exhibit was by far his most favorite thing. He could have stayed in their all day! He kept snapping pics of these cute little birds. We enjoyed some Olive Garden with our friends (here is Russ, Ben, and little Logan). Logan really took to Russ! Christina and Ben said he usually is scared of men. Russ was so cute with him. We headed off to check into our hotel room and then to our most favorite spot in St. Louis, the Chocolate Bar. This place has the cutest atmosphere and the best drinks and desserts! Russ enjoyed a beer shake (sounds gross but he said it was amazing.... cinnamon ice cream with double chocolate stout beer). We shared a to-die-for banana and nutella crepe. We found out that the owner also had a great little breakfast place called the Rooster. We checked it out the next morning and enjoyed some yummy breakfast crepes before heading back home. I'm so glad I got meet Russ's friends and Russ had the opportunity to catch up. Here is a pic from our hotel pic. I am almost 23 weeks PG in this picture. Where is the time going!?

Hooter Hiders for sale

Awhile I go I posted a picture of the awesome hooter hider that a family friend of ours had made for me. There was such an overwhelming response of people that were interested, she has decided to sale them. Single sided ones are $30 and double sided $38. This is a convenient cover up in order to breastfeed in public places or at home when visitors are over. She made a handy little terry cloth corner to wipe baby's mouth off. The fabrics are so cute! I have 4 double sided ones and 2 single sided. She can always make more if lots of you mommies or expectant mommies are interested. They also make wonderful shower gifts!
