Blue Defeats Pink!

Well, the hot dog or bun poll has been closed and the votes are in. Looks like the majority was right, we are having a BOY! We couldn't be happier! When the tech started the ultrasound Russ said, "Wow he's moving around alot." The tech said, "you're right it is a boy." I don't think we stopped smiling the whole time. Russ's responses and expressions to the whole situation were just priceless. We both were amazed how active this little guy is already! I have felt some movement but nothing like we saw on the screen today. After our appointment we went to dinner at Blanc Burger in Westport. Great hamburgers and we had our fries in a little shopping cart. Very cute! We were sure to take a couple of 20 week pics and then headed down to the plaza to design our baby bag. I decided since Baby P is a boy and Russ will have to carry this bag too, to not make it too girly. In the end I think the bag will be pretty gender neutral. We both love it and should have it by the end of June. I'm not including any of Baby P's profile pics because his face looked kinda creepy skeleton like. Thanks for all of the prayers, kind words, and excitement. We are thrilled to have this little guy join our family! We are also so excited for our baby to grow up with our future nephew, Baby T. We are looking forward to the boys playing sports together and being friends.

Love,
Russ and Emily

Birthday Camping Trip

I was lucky enough to get cancelled from work Saturday night so we could celebrate Liliana's birthday with a camping trip. We headed out to Clinton Lake and threw up our tents and cooks brauts and smores. I think the neighbors usually like a little more rustic camping but we had a ton of fun. After hanging out by the fire we played a few rounds of hearts in our tent before turning in for the evening. In the morning we cooked up some eggs and bacon on Russ's camping stove. It was a Christmas present from my dad that we hadn't had a chance to use yet. It was awesome and very handy! Happy Birthday Lilo, we had a great time!

Mindy's shower pics

pics from Sprint Center

Almost 19 weeks and another update

Last week we had a work wedding shower for miss Mindy at Kyla's house. The food layout was delicious and amazing looking! There were so many babies there! I got in some good practice time :) Evan is around 6 weeks old, Drake 2 weeks, Tony 5 months, Aaron a little over a year, and Luke 2 1/2 years old. Mindy got alot of great stuff and we can't wait for the big day!

We went to the Sprint Center with our neighbors and dear friends, Max and Liliana this past weekend to see Dane Cook. I tried to get a side shot to show off the almost 19 week belly. We met up with some other friends in the Power and Light after the show was over. Fun times!

We are finally finished with our furniture for our spare room. We are very pleased and found the most perfect knobs at Architectural Salvage on Saturday. The old fan is from Good JuJu in the west bottoms. We feel like our spare room now looks better than our room! So, hotel de la Pearson is complete if you would like to make a reservation :)

My sister and Matt got some exciting news today. You will have to check out there blog to find out what I'm talking about. I was told not to tell but said you could read their blog probably later tonight. We are very excited for them and can't wait to find out our news next week!

We are still chugging along at all of our house work in order to prepare for Baby P. We work here and there on cleaning out the office. I've sent several boxes to the DAV and put stuff out on the curb. Nothing like the power of the curb..... I set about 5 things out that I wanted to get rid of this weekend and it was all gone in an hour and half! We set up another industrial shelf in the basement last night and got rid of more junk. We keep laughing about how we were able to ignore all of this for so long.

I'm including a picture of the beautiful flowers my in-laws sent me for Mother's Day. The love just kept on coming!

Another post and Happy Mother's Day!

Last weekend we celebrated Mindy's bachelorette party with a scrumptious dinner at Piropo's. We had several delicious appetizers and my meal was soooo good! We then headed back to her friend Jill's house to play some games and have some drinks. A few of us expectant mothers did not participate in the drink part :) I will not enclose pics from the slumber party. If you don't know what this is, look it up and leave the rest to your imagination. Can't wait for the big day Mindy!

Last Sunday we celebrated Carolyn's birthday with a picnic at the zoo. The weather turned out perfect (after I had sent a million emails changing our plans back and forth because I thought it was going to rain). It was a nice time hanging out with family and friends. Happy B-day miss C!

Our dear friend Michael got hitched yesterday. He has been a friend of mine since we were little kids and Russ and him were roommates post Graceland. Sarah Jane looked beautiful and we are so jealous that they are on their way to Hawaii right now! Here's Russ and I decorating the get away car. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Lindgren!

So, I am giving into the pressure and providing you with a belly pic. I thought since I was dressed up and looked decent I would brave a PG pic on the blog. Here I am at the end of 17 weeks. We find out the gender of our little babe in a little over 2 weeks. Can't wait!

I was showered with several cards and gifts on Mother's day today. It still seems surreal that I am going to be a mother this time next year. My wonderful hubby got me a gift card to design my very own diaper bag at Lil Studio. Awesome gift! Thank you Russ, Matt and Rebecca, Max and Lilo, Mom and Dad, & Carolyn for already making this a special time for me! I really appreciate it!
